Founded by Rebecca Sakilla, MAKONAIRE BEAUTY draws from her connection to Nongoa in southwestern Guinea, the Makona River region and Kissi heritage.

The house translates memory, movement, artistry and inherited worth into a modern beauty experience. Its purpose is not to turn culture into decoration; it is to build a lasting beauty house whose roots remain visible as its invitation becomes global.

Growing up near the banks of the Makona River in Nongoa, Guinea, beauty was never viewed as a superficial layer or a temporary mask. It was a daily ritual of dignity, presence, and cultural reverence passed down through generations. When founder Rebecca Sakilla set out to create MAKONAIRE BEAUTY, she carried that exact philosophy into the laboratory—challenging the traditional trade-offs of the modern cosmetics industry. 

For years, high-performance lip colors forced a compromise between intense pigment payoff and lasting hydration. Velvet matte formulas left lips feeling dry and tight by midday, while hydrating formulas sacrificed rich color payoff and longevity. MAKONAIRE was born to bridge this exact gap. By combining micronized pigments with deeply nourishing West African botanical oils, each shade delivers rich color payoff in a single swipe while keeping lips comfortable and hydrated all day long.
